THE FIRST SPECIAL SESSION OF MWBU ’’NEZAVISNOST’’ PRESIDENCY. ARROGANCE AND IRRESPONSIBILITY OF BRANISLAV CANAK CONTINUES
THE LEADING COMMITTEE’ S POSITIONS CONFIRMED

The MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ cannot recall that it had to convene special sessions of the Presidency, including repression and persecution period during S. Milosevic’s government. Unreasonable actions of B. Canak, supported by the UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ L.C., brought about the convening of the Session of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee, signed by Canak, which is contrary to the Statute and common sense. It is especially degrading that Canak suggested the web site of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ as the material for this session of the Leading Committee. The only item of the L.C. agenda, conceived in this way, would be the ’’Conduct of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ leadership toward the bodies and leadership of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’. There is a doubt about this item that the L.C. could have passed six resolutions, but one alluded it was Dragan Matic’s opinion.

MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ PROMOTED THE BOOK TITLED ‘’SAFETY AND HEALTH IN IRON AND STEEL INDUSTRY’’
A VALUABLE BOOK

The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ promoted the book titled ‘’Safety and Health in Iron and Steel Industry’’ in the premises of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ in Belgrade on March 14 2008. The following people were present at this promotion: Vera Bozic-Trefald, Director of Job Safety and Industrial Hygiene Administration, Rato Ninkovic, President of Employers Union, representatives of the Autonomous Trade Union and representatives of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. Those present agreed that the word was about a very important book and that its publication was the commencement of application of its contents in practice. A promotion of this book shall be organized at the Safety and IH Fair and its additional printing should be expected soon, so that it would be distributed to all those who considered it useful.

THE SCANDAL

It’s not news any longer that Branislav Canak leaves the sessions of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ bodies. Firstly, he used to leave sessions of the Presidency, and now he is doing this at the sessions of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee. As soon as he gets a little angry, he stands up and goes toward the door. At this time, as Canak says: ’’I am looking for a job and I have no obligations toward you any more’’. The UBU L.C. commenced with a discussion about the ’’Resolutions’’ of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee and a request that the same should be put in the agenda of UBU Leading Committee, since the request for holding a Session of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ Presidency by the MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee has not been complied with. What was the request of the MWBU ?

‘’DOUBLE ZERO’’ FOR INFORMING

After the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee (L.C.) presented the realized costs for informing and trade union promotion with ‘’0’’ Dinars in the 2007 Work Report, at its last Session, and in the UBU Financial Scheme for 2008 it projected the expenses for these purposes amounting to ‘’0’’ Dinars as well – a very tumultuous Session of the Program Committee for informing of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ was held. After this ‘’informing reprimand’’ by the UBU Leading Committee, as it was appraised at this meeting, a full composition of the Program Committee, composed of representatives of all Branch Unions, submitted their resignation, which was a moral act. Resignations were submitted due to non-providing minimum material, technical and financial conditions, as well as a crude blunder of the UBU Leading Committee that the Informing Committee carried out successfully and professionally three fundamental strategic jobs concerning the information system, last year: ‘’Brand Book’’, project of UBU web site and specific-purpose TV broadcast on the RTS. It was requested from the UBU L.C. to explain the assigned ‘’zeros’’, and an apology, responsibility and providing working conditions were requested too. ‘’Forgive them God, because they don’t know what they are doing’’, are only some of the bitter comments of individual members of the Informing Committee.

A condition for such view is in the fact that by privatization of ‘’RTB’’ and ‘’RBM’’ too, a possibility was ascertained to create conditions for higher employee earnings through investments and production increase.

PROJECT OF THE YOUTH FROM SOUTH-EAST EUROPE
THE YOUTH IN ACTION FOR DECENT WORK

The project of the Youth from South-East Europe, approved by the European Commission and implemented in cooperation with Hungarian Trade Union (EOSZ) and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, aimed at promoting the status of young people in the labor market and trade union. The participants in the project were young people of the following Trade Unions: Croatian, B & H, Montenegrin, Serbian, Macedonian, Albanian, Kosovo, Rumanian, Bulgarian and Hungarian. The idea was to organize a concert in all countries on June 20 in order to call attention to the youth and the public to the problems encountered by young people in the labor market.
