The MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” organizes workers of the following industries: iron and steel industry, manufacture and processing of non-ferrous metals, metalworking, machine-building (engineering), production of transport facilities, shipbuilding, production of electrical devices, household appliances and other activities and branches within the metal industry.
The MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” presently assembles about 35.000
members from the above stated metal branches and industries throughout Serbia. The members of MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” are organized through commissary Boards at the level of the company in which they are employed.
The MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” services its members through 13 regions in the Republic of Serbia. The number of members in the regions differs and mainly depends on the industrial capacities that were built, on metal manufacture and processing in Serbia.
Any employee and trainee, within the above stated metal industries, may become a member of the MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” except the executive office holders with special competences and responsibilities. Also, other categories from the above stated industries can be members of the MWBU “INDEPENDENCE”: students, unemployed workers, disabled workers, retired persons, organized through their organizations being within the MWBU “INDEPENDENCE”.
Joining the MWBU “INDEPENDENCE” is on voluntary basis and it is proved by signing the application form for admission.
