The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union existing within ‘’FAP’’ is not the only one, but it is the one which seriously and responsibly began to consider the situation in the Company since the first tender for sale of the Company was unsuccessful. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union made a decision that cooperation with Serbian Government should be continued for the reason of finding a strategic partner and also that minister Dinkic should be invited to visit this Company.

NEW BENEFITS FOR WORKERS OF RTB BOR




Bor, January 31 2008
Thanks to full understanding of the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development and minister M. Dinkic, employees of RTB Bor will get a compensation, namely, each employee with steady employment, of which there are 4691 in RTB Bor, which will be taken over by the first-ranked bidder at the tender. The amount of compensation will depend on the length of service in the entity to be privatized and it has been anticipated that it should amount to 200 Euro per year of service. Minister Dinkic will submit this proposal at the Session of Serbian Government which has been scheduled for March 15 2008, and payment of compensation will be possible by the end of April 2008.

‘’If ruining of Zrenjanin’s factories ‘’Sinvoz’’ and ‘’Bek’’ is not prevented, Mirko Malesev, leader of the ATU for several communes with its center in Zrenjanin, said he would pitch tents in Belgrade together with colleagues of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union.’’ This is a quotation from the newspaper ‘’Politika’’ dated January 19 2008, published immediately after the funeral of Radislav Stojanov, member of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union, who lost his life in a tragic accident.

LABOR UNION CENTER SERVED ITS PURPOSE




Belgrade, January 18 2008.
In the history of the Labor Union Center building in Belgrade it happened that employees spent the night in it, protesting and expressing their discontent. That history repeats itself has been confirmed by dissatisfied workers of ‘’BEK’’ and ‘’SINVOZ’’, Zrenjanin, which spent the night in the building of the mentioned Center and sent an open protest letter to government institutions they deem responsible for securing companies and their jobs. A responsible conduct is requested from the State of Serbia regarding public property and entrusted jobs, rights of workers and small shareholders.

AUSTRIAN TRADE UNION ’’GMTN’’ VISITED MWBU ’’NEZAVISNOST’’ AND ’’RTB’’ BOR

On Monday, January 14 2008, the ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of ’’RTB’’ Bor was a host to colleagues of Austrian Metal Workers Union (GMTN). The reason for this visit was the intention of ’’A-TEC Industries’’ to privatize ’’RTB’’ Bor. The following colleagues visited Bor: Manfred Anderle, GMTN Managing Secretary, and Werner Knoll, President of Employee Council of Montanwerke-Brixlegg (A-TEC Industries). The desire of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union was to become acquainted with and get in touch with Austrian colleagues, as well as to exchange the information on working conditions, earnings and conduct of Austrian employers toward employees in Austria, namely, toward trade union.
