MOBBING – A PHENOMENON THAT SHOULD BE PREVENTED

The existence of mobbing in companies isn’t an unusual phenomenon and by perceiving the existence of mobbing and its consequences on employees, company and society on the whole, MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ has taken specific steps to create a base for preventive actions through education. In that attempt we were supported, for almost a year, by ‘’STOP MOBBING’’ Association, which has a Protocol signed with MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ on cooperation and mutual support. A desire and need of members of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and ‘’Nezavisnost’’ BU of TLF from Subotica have been realized by organizing a Seminar on Mobbing, and the lecturer was the President of ‘’STOP MOBBING’’ Association, Mr. Aleksandar Ilic. The result of the Seminar is trained trade union representatives which have learned about mobbing, how it occurs, who are the mobbers and who the victims, how to recognize and act preventively, so that mobbing does not occur.

The President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic, Secretary Aleksandar Todic, President of the Youth Section, Jasmina Petrovic and President of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of ‘’Prvi partizan’’ Uzice, Zvezdan Ilic, were welcomed by the Leadership of ACV ‘’Metaal’’, headed by the President Marc De Wilde.

The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ wishes to support the work and operations of the Labor Inspectorate through its contribution. Also, it expects from this Inspectorate to observe the statutory regulations without exception. All this was stated by the president of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic, in the talks to the Director of Labor Inspectorate, Radovan Ristanovic. All this aimed at enhancing the Inspectorate’s activities on a higher level.

At the beginning of February, the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development, with the presence of representative trade unions of ‘’RTB’’, Management of ‘’RTB’’, Privatization Agency and representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, clarified some of the topics: 1. The signatory of the supplementary social program can be only one representative trade union and bidder, 2. The already signed Collective Agreement shall be effective within one-year period until the signing of the new C.A. with the new owner.

SAVING STUMBLED KRALJEVO’S GIANTS

The results achieved by our Union in the previous period, as well as the presence of problems in companies in Kraljevo, guided the MWBU to improve fairly well the status of employees of ‘’Magnohrom’’, through active and special actions, and this activity enabled the payment of lump sum financial assistance which was welcome to workers who did not receive their wages for many months. We were not alone in this project and we express our gratitude to the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, as well as to Mr. Goran Nesovic, member of Parliament from G17+ Kraljevo.

After one year since the privatization, ‘’Irva Investicije’’ discharged a greater part of its obligations. The outstanding earnings were paid out, the last installment of debt, payment of benefits of the second part of the social program, partial discharge of obligations to commercial creditors, and also a delivery of new equipment is expected for the reason of increasing the productivity.
