Belgrade, April 4, 2007
The delegation of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’, composed of Negoslav Jovanovic, Vice-President, Rudolf Navijalic, President, Dragan Jankucic, Vice-President, and Mladen Ursulovic, member of the Joint Committee of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Trade Union of ’’RTB’’ Bor, visited ’’Elkon Kuprum’’ Trade Union, Zalau, on March 27, 2007. The visit was organized on the basis of the Protocol on inter-union cooperation between the Metal Workers’ Branch Union ’’Nezavisnost’’, Serbia, and FNS Solidaritatea Metal, Rumania, a member of which is ’’Elkon Kuprum’’ Trade Union. Both Trade Unions are members of the EMF and the IMF.

By carrying out the resolutions of the Leading Committee of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’, the working group, composed of representatives of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’, MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ and BU TLF ’’Nezavisnost’’, considered the previous activities associated with integration of these two industrial trade unions, as well as the proposals for the follow-up of commenced activities, with the ultimate objective of creating a powerful, influential, financially stable trade union. The Coordination ended with resolutions passed unanimously, with the view of continuance of the integration process.

MEETING OF EASTERN REGION OF THE EUROPEAN METAL WORKERS’ FEDERATION
PREPARATIONS FOR THE EMF CONGRESS IN LISABON

Zagreb, March 19 – 20, 2007.
A meeting of metal workers’ trade union organizations from the eastern region of EMF (European Metal Workers’ Federation) was held in Zagreb on March 19 and 20, 2007. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the following trade unions: ’’Solidarnost’’, Poland, ’’OS Kovo’’, Czech Republic, ’’OZ Kovo’’, Slovakia, ’’VASAS’’, Hungary, ’’SKEI’’, Slovenia, ’’SMH’’, Croatia, ’’SMBiH’’, Bosnia and Herzegovina, MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’, Serbia, ’’SMCG’’, Montenegro, ’’SMER’’, Macedonia, ’’Metalicy’’, Bulgaria, ’’FNS Solidaritatea’’, Rumania, ’’Metarom’’, Rumania. The meeting was also attended by Peter Scherrer, Secretary General of EMF and Alicja Masievic, EMF’s assistant. The subject of the meeting was the preparation for the EMF Congress, which will take place in Lisabon on June 6 - 7, 2007, as well as the EMF’s future activities in the region.

A VISIT OF MEMBERS OF THE YOUTH SECTION OF MWBU ’’NEZAVISNOST’’ TO COLLEAGUES OF FTM CGT, FRANCE
ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE AND GAINING EXPERIENCE FOR THE FUTURE

Belgrade, March 22, 2007
A group of ten representatives of the Youth Section of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ visited the Metal Workers’ Trade Union of France, FTM CGT, and the Youth Committee of FTM CGT, in the period from March 12 – 16, 2007. The visit has been organized within a good and intensive cooperation of the two unions, FTM CGT and MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’. During a five-day stay in Paris, a delegation of young people of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and gain experience through an informative and ample program which would be useful for them in further union activities.
