LABOR INSPECTORATE CONDUCTED TALKS WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’
JOINT ACTIVITIES AND MORE FREQUENT CONTACTS

The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ wishes to support the work and operations of the Labor Inspectorate through its contribution. Also, it expects from this Inspectorate to observe the statutory regulations without exception. All this was stated by the president of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic, in the talks to the Director of Labor Inspectorate, Radovan Ristanovic. All this aimed at enhancing the Inspectorate’s activities on a higher level.
The Inspectorate itself has already commenced certain re-organization, organization reforms, encouraging employees and trade unions being users of their services. Also, one works on the standardization of inspection procedures, and when finished, they shall be forwarded to trade unions and Employers Union. The annual report of Inspectorate operations shall be submitted to the Socio-Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia. It was agreed that the communication between trade union and inspectorate would be intensified and would develop on a monthly basis. A possibility emerged that the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and Inspectorate could take joint actions in the area of job safety and health protection in companies, where MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ has its Trustee Offices. The representatives of the Inspectorate showed an exceptional interest in the status of women in the transition process and privatization, their protection, existence of mobbing, as well as the maternity issues. Also, a joint visit of the Inspectorate and MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ to German Metal Workers Union – IG Metall was agreed, whereby the time schedule of this visit would be agreed on subsequently.
