AFTER NINE MONTHS OF UNSUCCESSFUL ENDEAVORS TO SIGN A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

STRIKE IN ’’INTERLEMIND’’ – LESKOVAC

Leskovac, August 29, 2007
After almost nine months of unsuccessful efforts to sign a C.A., determine the labor cost and settle relations within the company, both trade unions of ’’Interlemind’’ Leskovac were compelled to protect employees rights by organizing a strike. The ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union and Autonomous Trade Union of ’’Interlemind’’ Leskovac organized employees in compliance with the Law on Strike and went into strike on August 16, 2007. The ’’Peconi’’ syndrome continues in Serbia, with the difference that the owner and employer of ’’Interlemind’’ isn’t one of the domestic ’’holy cows’’ of Serbian privatization, but a Bulgarian ’’holy cow’’, namely, Macedonian privatization.

SPLIT IN “ASNS” DUE TO TRADE UNION PRIVATIZATION AND FINANCIAL MISUSES OF RANKA SAVIC AND DRAGAN MILOVANOVIC

IT’S OVER WITH “ASNS” – THREATENING WITH FISTS AND PISTOLS

Belgrade, August 11, 2007
The expelled Vice-Presidents of “ASNS” together with a few regional representatives of “ASNS” presented some previous dishonorable acts at the Press Conference yesterday, which took place in “Media Center”. The current president of “ASNS”, Ranka Savic, was accused of usurping about 6 million dinars during the purchase of coal, organized by “ASNS” and former Minister of Labor, now “ASNS” “manager”, through “Kolubara” mine. We remind that “ASNS” was at one time the exclusive distributor of 200 thousand tons of crude coal, and that was an agreement on the largest amount in history, signed between “Kolubara” with some distributors, and performed exclusively through “ASNS” headquarters. The price of coal per ton was Din. 958,80, which was a deal worth approximately 200 million dinars. Ranka Savic explained at that time that 3% of the deal goes to “ASNS” headquarters, which amounted to approx. 6 million dinars. Without counting those 6 million dinars, a question was posed about 6 million dinar commission and total debt to “Kolubara” and transporters was estimated at over ten million dinars, and it should have been settled by “ASNS” members which didn’t order the coal. The expelled unionists claimed that Milovanovic has recently fired at Savic and that he even broke her front tooth with a pistol handle, but everyone was silent about this for unknown reasons.

HOT SUMMER IN KRAGUJEVAC: ACTION PLAN OF SERBIAN MINISTER OF ECONOMY AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT, BY WHICH “ZET” WOULD BE ABOLISHED, UNACCEPTABLE FOR TRADE UNIONS

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH 4500 EMPLOYEES?

Kragujevac, August 8, 2007
Trade Union organizations of “Zastava vozila” Group directed their opinions of the Action Plan to the Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mladjan Dinkic, envisaging the abolishment of “Zastava employment and training” (ZET). The Information on employee status in “ZET” was unanimously adopted at Serbian Government Session, held on July 26, 2007. It was stressed that 6,3 billion dinars was paid to the “ZET” account from the budget of the Rep. of Serbia in the period from 2001 till July 30, 2007. The trade unions’ position is that Serbian Government and “Zastava vozila” Management cannot make decisions independently on the future and status of 4500 employees of “ZET”. The consequences of possible unilateral decisions shall be taken solely by Serbian Government and “Zastava vozila” Management, said trade unions’ representatives. The possibility of riots and demonstrations was announced, which would be supported not only by “ZET” employees but also by the city of Kragujevac.
