Pursuant to Article 112., para.3. of the Labor Law (“Official Gazette of the RS”, nos. 24/05 and 61/05), referring to determining of minimum pay for the period July – December 2007, taking into consideration all the parameters defined in it (living costs, average pay movements in the Rep. of Serbia, existential and social needs of an employee and of his family, unemployment rate, employment trends in the labor market and general economic development level of the Rep. of Serbia), after previous consultation of social partners, the Socio-Economic Council reached a Decision at the Session held on July 9, 2007 that the minimum pay should be determined in the following amount:

NEWS FROM THE MWBU SITE

RECORD AFTER RECORD




Belgrade, July 2007
A new record of monthly visiting the MWBU site was set in June 2007, and it is now 2851 visitors, being by 12,5% greater than the previous one. Daily visiting average also represents a record and it is 95 visitors. The site was visited by approximately 180 visitors on the last day of the month. In this way the MWBU reconfirmed the slogan with which it entered the work-out and viability project of the mostly read unionist website in South-East Europe: KNOWLEDGE HAS ITS COST AND IGNORANCE A MUCH HIGHER ONE!!! Visitors of the site www.gsmnezavisnostorg.yu have confirmed this in the best way, and the circle of confidence and friendship expands every day, not only in Serbia, where there are about 20% visitors, but on the whole planet where our site is visited by 80% visitors.

The best way to show concern and interest in young people’s status is reflected in the support and help that can be provided for them. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of U. S. Steel has supported the work of the Boy Scout Troop ‘’Dejan Obradovic-Roki’’ from Lipe for many years. The Boy Scout Troop ‘’Dejan Obradovic-Roki’’ traditionally gathers scout troops from Podunavlje-Branicevo region and are developing scout spirit in young people through actions and competitions, and a majority of them are children of U. S. Steel’s employees being mostly members of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union.

A visit of the leadership of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ to ‘’Zastava’’ Group and talks with the General Director, Zoran Radojevic, confirmed traditionally good relations developed in ‘’Zastava’’ by MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. An unexpected sickness of the Secretary General of the EMF, Peter Scherer, disabled us to conduct talks at the international trade union cooperation level, but joint positions of ‘’Zastava’’ Group and MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ were confirmed, associated with the need for the existence and development of Serbian Automotive Industry.

A VISIT TO RUMANIAN TRADE UNION F.N.S. ’’SOLIDARITATEA METAL’’

The visit to Rumanian Trade Union ’’Solidaritatea Metal’’ is a continuation of a successful cooperation developed in the past period by the MWBU and ’’Solidaritatea Metal’’. The primary aim of the visit was that trade union representatives of some Serbian companies met each other and made direct contact with colleagues and unions, which are similar to Serbian companies regarding production. The delegation of MWBU was composed of the President D. Matic, as well as trade union representatives of seven companies of ours: Copper Mill, Sevojno, Zelvoz, Smederevo, ATB Sever, Subotica, FBC, Majdanpek, Zastava automobili, Kragujevac, Prvi Partizan, Uzice and RTB Bor.
