ADDRESSING EMPLOYEES OF “MAGNOHROM” AND THE PUBLIC OF KRALJEVO

WHO PERMITTED “GLOBAL STEEL” TO DESTROY AND SELL HUNDREDS OF TONS OF FACTORY MACHINES?

Kraljevo, November 23 2007
The proof that Global Steel is not a good solution for workers of Magnohrom was confirmed by the Privatization Agency, because it requested termination of Purchase & Sales Contract. A bad situation in Magnohrom indicates company’s bankruptcy. Employees of Magnohrom and our Union pointed to all this six months ago. The Privatization Agency didn’t believe this and supported the Management. Global Steel destroyed a lot. Hundreds of tons of machines were sold, many things cut and broken and workers haven’t even “seen” the money from this sale.

There is no production, it is worse than ever, one demands payment of outstanding earnings by filing requests with the competent court, supplies are sold out and gas, water and electricity are cut out. Mr. Ravi Darbari behaves in a cynical manner and claims that Global Steel invested more than 9 million Euro. During inspection by the Privatization Agency it has been established that Global Steel invested 1,1 million Euro from the envisaged 23 million. The largest investment is in Chrysler car that costs Euro 50.000, owned by Ravi Darbari. The “Nezavisnost” Union worked to the benefit of Magnohrom’s workers and against Global Steel. The Collective Agreement was not observed and active members of our Union were banished. The representatives of other trade unions haven’t made up their mind. What should be done further? Magnohrom is ruined and destroyed, and who is going to buy this company in such a condition, but one has to make an attempt. If one does not succeed in this, then bankruptcy procedure will be instituted as it was the case with SARTID.

“Nezavisnost” won’t allow ruining of a Serbian giant and it will do its best.
