SINVOZ AD, ZRENJANIN
SURPLUS MANPOWER
Zrenjanin, July 2007
The Commission for ranking the redundancies in AD Sinvoz, Zrenjanin, confirmed the Decision reached at its session held on May 28, 2007, so that Sinvoz would remain without 63 workers and ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union would lose 28 of its members.
Due to insufficient funds for payment of compensations (benefits) to surplus manpower, the mentioned workers were on paid leave at the time this decision was made. Now, a majority of those workers will return to Sinvoz where the Executive Management offers them an Agreement with questionable subject matter, the provisions of which have neither legal grounds in the Labor Contract, Collective Agreement with the Employer nor in the Labor Law.
Namely, it is stated in the Agreement that the workers should ’’stay at home’’, and that they would get their pays as if they were at work, on the condition that they were not entitled to take a legal action. The ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union responded immediately to such Agreement and demanded from Sinvoz Management to abrogate this Agreement and from all workers that they should not sign it. The Labor Inspection of the Republic was immediately notified about all this, which reacted promptly and went to establish the facts at the very spot, and the Management abrogated the Agreement the day before, as groundless and contrary to the law.
Sinvoz Management hasn’t agreed on the labor cost so far and no one knows when this will be, and employees of this company, in addition to irregular payment of earnings, get their pays in the form of an advance payment.
