SHIPYARD "BEGEJ" FROM ZRENJANIN CHANGED BUSINESS PARTNER

DISCONTINUANCE OF COOPERATION WITH DUTCH BUSINESSMAN

Zrenjanin, June 22, 2007. “Vojvodjanska banka”, majority owner of the Shipyard “Begej” from Zrenjanin, with 96,7% capital, broke the Agreement on business cooperation with controversial Dutch businessman Komer Damen, because of default of his commitments towards “Vojvodjanska banka” and employees.

- "Vojvođanska banka" signed the Agreement on Business Cooperation with “Mercurius Group”, namely, Ian Zimermann. New employer requested a meeting, immediately upon company take-over, with the only trade union in the Shipyard, i.e. MWBU “Nezavisnost”, and promised regular payment of earnings, as well as an increase of labor cost by 50% at that meeting. The earnings for a 2-month period were paid out, as a confirmation of that agreement, and thereby employees’ salaries for March and April were paid out, and the earnings for May would be paid out soon, said Zoran Eremic, regional trustee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost.”
