THE “NEZAVISNOST” UNION OF “RTB” BOR; REGARDING THE INFORMATION PUBLISHED IN THE NEWSPAPER “KOLEKTIV”
EQUAL RIGHTS TO INFORMING

-“Giving untrue and unverified information and half-truth in the media against those supporting the privatization process of “RTB” is one of the reasons that “Nezavisnost” Union of “RTB” sent a text to the office of the newspaper “Kolektiv” in order to inform, even in this way, the interested workers of “RTB”, as well as the citizens of Bor, of the reasons of visiting the union colleagues of the Rumanian company “Cuprom” and the information received on that occasion. Although the text was sent in due course, it wasn’t published in the latest issue of the newspaper dated April 13, 2007”, it is said in the statement of Dragan Jankucic, Vice-President of the Union’s Joint Committee of “RTB” Bor.

An adverse editorial policy and censoring the news from “Nezavisnost” Union were continued. More attention has been devoted to guessing and happenings against privatization, instead of popularizing a process that is inevitable and finally in employees’ interest. Does such editorial policy of those responsible in the newspaper “Kolektiv” reflect their opinion against privatization and arrival of a new owner or not; can they distinguish essential from unessential. In both cases, the word is about the abuse of office, whereby employees are deprived of the right to impartial informing. For this reason, the “Nezavisnost” Union requests from the acting director of “RTB”, M. Conic, and editorial board of the newspaper “Kolektiv”, an explanation and responsibility of all those making such editorial policy.

We hope that “Kolektiv” is really a newspaper of “RTB” Factory and workers of “RTB” and not only of the executive management and editorial structure. We demand that the statements of “Nezavisnost” Union are equally treated in our newspaper “Kolektiv” in the future, it is said at the end of the statement of Dragan Jankucic, Vice-President of the Union’s Joint Committee of “RTB” Bor.
