A VISIT TO ABS HOLDINGS
PARTNERSHIP IS A KEY OF SUCCESS
Belgrade, January 31, 2007. A significant number of companies, operating formerly within MINEL system and in which the MWBU “Nezavisnost” has its commissary offices and members, became the property of ABS Holdings through the privatization process, so that companies Minel EOP Ripanj, Minel Trafo Mladenovac, Minel Fepo Zrenjanin, Minel Elektrogradnja DV, Minel Kontaktne mreze and Minel Projektinzenjering are within ABS Holdings.
Such ownership structure required that the leadership of MWBU “Nezavisnost”, as well as our union representatives from the stated companies scheduled a meeting with Zoran Radosavljevic, ABS Director, and Dragan Ilic, Executive Director. The Vice-President of MWBU “Nezavisnost”, Negoslav Jovanovic, informed the ABS management about the situation and problems existing in some companies from the metal industry in the post-privatization period, as well as about union’s activities in preventing the occurrence of problematic situations.
Both sides stated their opinion that mutual communication should be on a high level, and the problems that arose had to be solved through social dialogue. It was pointed out that ABS had long-term plans for all the companies it had bought and that unions had to assume a prominent place in those activities. The business operations results so far are encouraging for employees and the union that ABS is a serious partner with clear plans securing good employees’ position and status.
The following persons of MWBU “Nezavisnost” took part: Miodrag Gvozdenovic, regional commissary for Belgrade, Bora Savic of “EOP” Ripanj, Radivoj Ignjatovic, “Trafo” Mladenovac, and Momcilo Milojevic, “Fepo” Zrenjanin.
