Macro situation in the market has impact on the operation of ‘’Livar’’ Foundry, Topola
Regular payment of wages brought in question
WITH JOINT EFFORTS TO RESPONSIBILITY
Topola, September 2008
Only companies exporting over 90% of their production to the EU market are aware that export orientation isn’t the issue evaluated by Serbian Government, which must be the future of Serbian economy. One has drawn such conclusion after the talks between the director of ‘’Livar’’ Topola, Branko Grumic and representatives of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, which were conducted on August 21 2008 in Topola. A high-quality of products in the quantities associated with high utilization of the current manufacturing capacities is not sufficient to maintain regular payment of wages, and measures are taken in this area in order to solve the problem.
‘’Livar’’ Topola is also interested in the domestic market and contacts with ‘’Fiat’’ are encouraging. It is necessary that ‘’Topola’’ Foundry, as a part of the business system ‘’LIVAR’’, is supported in the part concerning the investments in order to avoid Serbian banks and high interest rates. Employees view the present situation with ‘’open eyes’’, aware that the dimension of changes in the world market has struck Topola too, so that we can feel the consequences individually, as well as employees within the EU.
One should continue achieving good production results, but one should have satisfied workers which get their pays without delay and are not on strike. The information received by the director, Branko Grumic, is encouraging, and an increased production is expected, new customers, as well as regular payment of wages. The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and its representatives will monitor the situation, creating the conditions for improving the standard of living of ‘’Livar’’ Topola employees.
