The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Coordinating Committee for Belgrade Region supported the Statute and Rules, applicable in the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’
THE TRUTH AND NOT AN INDIVIDUAL’S INTEREST
Belgrade, June 2 2008
The Metal Workers of Belgrade Region are looking forward to the MWBU Congress and no one will prevent them from going to this Congress, namely, none of the Decisions made by UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee and Mr. B. Canak with his uncivilized, primitive and non-unionist conduct.
Belgrade Region has a lot of things for which it should be praised at the Metal Workers’ Congress, which will take place in Novi Sad. The Coordinating Committee adopted many documents associated with the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Congress with a special review of election rules. The proposal of colleagues from Podunavlje-Branicevo Region was appraised as a good one, and it represents a base for future rules. The signed General Collective Agreement was highly evaluated. The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ is going to take part in the final negotiations concerning the signing of the Branch Collective Agreement for metal industry.
A complete information on the Session of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee was given by excluded member of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic. The Coordinating Committee of Belgrade Region knows about the event, namely, what happened before the event, and one woman colleague gave her comment on this, as follows:
-‘’They cannot dismiss the President of MWBU, on whatever positions they are. This shall be done by those who elected him if there is a need!’’ More precisely, observing the Statute, Rules, respecting the personality of each trade union member is beyond the arrogance and imprudent behavior of any individual even if he is Branislav Canak himself. This event isn’t the priority of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The Metal Workers will certainly go to the Congress.
