‘’MAGNOHROM’’ – TO BE OR NOT TO BE
Kraljevo, April 10 2008
‘’When a hill doesn’t approach Mohammed, then Mohammed will approach a hill’’. This is a description of the current situation in which ‘’Magnohrom’’ workers are now. The representatives of ‘’Magnohrom’’ Union, ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union and the Autonomous Trade Union, as well as representatives of the Job Safety Commission, were present at the meeting held in the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development. The representatives of the Ministry and Stock Fund listened to workers representatives and capital representative of ‘’Magnohrom’’, Dragomir Majstorovic who described the current situation in ‘’Magnohrom’’.
Certain proposals of the conclusions followed after the discussion. The State is going to link years of service from 2005 – 2008. The Social Program it offered is within legal framework: 100 Euro per year of service or 10 average wages on the Republic level, i.e. 4.600 Euro, in Dinar equivalent that is RSD 382.000,00 for workers having 10 and over 10 years of service. The one who doesn’t accept this, may lodge an appeal with the competent court for debts and outstandings.
As to financial support for production start-up, 20 million Euro was granted from 224 million Euro, requested by the capital representative Majstorovic and director Kosanovic.
At trade unions pointing out the debts to employees, Mr. Milan Josipovic requested that lists of total debts should be handed over to him by the director Kosanovic. Also, he accepted subsequent negotiations with trade unions and Job Safety Commission.
The Minutes, presented subsequently that was the conclusion at the same time, was signed by all those present except trade union. The reason for not signing the same was the fact that it was stated nowhere in the conclusion that there would be subsequent negotiations on the Social Program.
This Minutes wasn’t signed by Mr. Ilic too, because he was absent, therefore, he would sign it later on.
