PERFORMANCE OF YOUTH AND BEAUTY

A traditional performance of Serbian folklore veterans ‘’Spomenar’’ took place in ‘’Sava Centar’’ in Belgrade on March 16 2008. The ensemble of veterans GKUD ‘’Smederevo’’ had its performance too, whose traditional sponsor is ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of USS. This ensemble from Smederevo is mostly composed of workers of U.S. Steel Serbia of Smederevo. A lack of ‘’lively dance’’ was replaced by great experience on the scene, mature creative emotions and open communication with audience. This cultural event, which promoted the tradition and national art, was an unrepeatable show for eyes, ears and spirit not only of audience but the participants on the scene as well.

At the performance of Serbian folklore veterans ‘’Spomenar’’ appeared: KUD (Folk Dance Association) ‘’Gradimir’’ Belgrade, KUD ‘’Abrasevic’’, Arandjelovac, KUD ‘’Rade Markovic’’, Saraorci, GKUD ‘’Smederevo’’, Smederevo, KUD ‘’Polet’’, Belgrade, KUD ‘’Karadzic’’, Loznica, KUD ‘’Dobanovci’’, Dobanovci, KUD ‘’Frula’’, Belgrade, AKUD ‘’Branko Krsmanovic’’, Belgrade, KUD ‘’Srem’’, Jakovo, Cukarica Club, Belgrade, KUD ‘’PKB’’, Padinska Skela, KUD ‘’Stanko Paunovic’’, Pancevo, Folklore Ensemble ‘’Vrbas’’, Vrbas, KUD ‘’Djido’’, Bogatic, KUD ‘’Vlado Tasevski’’, Skoplje, KUD ‘’Abrasevic’’ Belgrade, AKUD ‘’Lola’’, Belgrade.

The Artistic Council of Serbian Folklore Veterans Performance, composed of Mirjana Neskovic, Desanka Djordjevic, Mihajlo Kuzmanovic, Danilo Srbljanovic and Svetislav Trifunovic, as well as the Art Director Vladeta Vlahovic – Cvrca, made a decision that this year’s performance of folklore should be devoted to doyen of Serbian folklore, Mr. Danilo Srbljanovic.
