FINAL PHASE OF PRIVATIZATION OF CABLE INDUSTRY JAGODINA THROUGH INVITING TENDERS

TENDER FOR JAGODINA’S GIANT

Jagodina, February 12 2008
The final phase of privatization of the Cable Industry Jagodina began by inviting tenders for the privatization of the Cable Industry Jagodina AD Holding in the restructuring phase and hoping that Jagodina’s metal industry giant would be sold to a buyer (customer) who would know how to manage the capital, secure jobs and wages for workers, start new business, open new markets and make the CIJ business system stable. Those interested can file registration forms by March 21 2008 and tender documentation will be available as from February 12 2008.

A 100% of public capital is being sold and the deposit for potential buyers will be 50.000 Euro. The requirements that a buyer would have to meet were dealing with the manufacture of insulated wire or cables at least in the last three commercial years in continuity and that the buyer made profit from business operations of at least 65 million Euro in 2007 or that he was an investor who drew profit higher than 80 million Euro in 2007.

For these reasons, ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of Cable Industry Jagodina forwarded a supplementary social program to the Privatization Agency, which hasn’t been within the documentation, until today, i.e. in the ‘’data room’’, and there was a possibility to perform tender without this document being of exceptional importance to employees.

The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union shall forward a notification on tender and basic data on tender to more than 50 addresses of renowned cable and wire manufacturers, hoping it will arouse their interest, because it is necessary that Cable Industry Jagodina gets a serious partner coming with the capital and tradition.
