DIRECTOR OF TOPOLA LIVAR AD REPLIED TO THE LETTER OF THE PRESIDENT OF MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’
DIALOGUE – BASE FOR UNDERSTANDING

The President of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union, Mr. Matic, received a reply from the director of Topola Livar AD, in which it was stated that he didn’t contest workers right to payment of vacation allowance and that 20% of this allowance for 2007 was paid out in September together with payment of earnings for August 2007. It was also stated that it was agreed with workers that the remaining unpaid portion of vacation allowance should be paid out as follows:

-40% on January 25 2008
-40% on February 25 2008,

while payment of vacation allowance for current year will begin in February in 10% installments. Mr. Branko Grumic also said that the production was increased in 2007, i.e. 950 tons per month, and a new casting line was purchased. Smelting capacities are to be expanded, sand preparation capacities too, a new production program shall be introduced and Nodular Cast program as well. All this will enable opening of new jobs, better pays and better development of this region. He also stressed that permanent coordination between trade union and management should exist, that social dialogue should be developed, arguments should not be an obstacle but only understanding.
