THE METAL WORKERS’ BRANCH UNION ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’
JOB SAFETY COMMISSION FORMED
Belgrade, February 28, 2007.
When it was mostly needed, when in our companies and on building sites employees lose their lives or get injured, the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ formed a Job Safety Commission. The forming of the Commission has been done in accordance with the Decisions of the Presidency and the Leading Committee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The Commission was formed at a Session held in Belgrade on February 22, 2007, and it consists of Mr. Branimir Tomasevic (Nis), Vice-President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and President of the Commission too, as well as of the Commission members: Aleksandar Todic (Belgrade), Nela Markovic (Kragujevac), Zoran Krstic (Uzice), Dragan Jankucic (Bor), Dragan Mucalov (Zrenjanin) and Svetislav Ranisavljevic (Smederevo).
In addition to constituting, the Job Safety Commission adopted a Schedule of Activities for 2007 which will be forwarded to the Leading Committee for consideration and adopting at the Session scheduled for February 27, 2007. The content of the Questionnaire, which will be distributed to regional commissaries and to broader membership, was also considered.
The Commission’s activity is precisely defined by the Schedule of Activities, and through its monitoring we will be able to evaluate the activities of a newly formed Commission. The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ expects much from this Commission’s work and it will devote special attention to its activities, especially if one bears in mind that the year 2007 is the ‘’Year of Job Safety’’.
