BANJA VRUJCI: WORKERS’ – SPORTS GAMES OF ’’NEZAVISNOST’’ UNION – USS

SAFE, SPORTSMANLIKE AND AFFIRMATIVE

The workers’ – sports games of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of U. S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o. were organized in Banja Vrujci from December 11 – 15, 2006. In a fair, sportsmanlike competition of 30 employees, who competed for ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union and U. S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o. in a safe and affirmative way, the meet ended.

’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of U. S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o., with the participation of 30 employees of USS company, namely, members of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union, organized the workers’ – sports games in a famous Serbian tourist-recreation center Banja Vrujci, in the period from December 11 – 15, 2006.

The participants in the workers’ – sports games left on their trip on December 11 at 8:00 a.m., in front of Smederevo Museum, and after a safe trip, they arrived in Banja Vrujci about 12:00 p.m. After accomodation in the rooms and lunch, the rest of the day was spent in free activities, namely, in visiting and viewing the beautiful surroundings of this increasingly popular spa and tourist-recreation resort in Serbia. The newly built capacities for the production and bottling of ’’Voda-Voda’’ and popular juice ’’Sinalco’’ were especially interesting to our colleagues.

The sports competitions were held on December 12 and 13 in the following disciplines: basket-ball for men, small soccer, picado for men and women, swimming for men and women, table-tennis for men and women and chess for men. All meets were held in a fair and sportsmanlike manner without incidents.

Within this year’s workers’ – sports games of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of U. S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o., an educational seminar was also organized for the participants, on December 14. The topics of the seminar were as follows: ’’Industrial culture and corporate management’’, ’’Equality of the sexes’’, ’’Young people and Union’’. The lecturers at the seminar were: Dragan Matic, President of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’, Gordana Aleksic, Vice-President of UBU ’’Nezavisnost’’ and Jasmina Petrovic, President of the Youth Section of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’.

A party was organized on the same day after the seminar, with the participation of the colleagues from the Thermo-Electric Power Plants - Kostolac, Obrenovac, Lazarevac and Belgrade, at which the winners were declared and certificates awarded for the three first-placed competitors, by disciplines. Then, the most attractive ’’move’’ of the meet, the most attractive ’’walker’’, the best jazz orchestra (without instruments) were declared. Ksenija Simic from the Hot Strip Mill was declared to be the best sportswoman in the women’s competition, and Predrag Dimitrijevic from the BF Plant was declared to be the best sportsman in the men’s competition.

The participants in this year’s workers’ – sports games of ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of U. S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o. returned to Smederevo on December 15, 2006 at 10:00 p.m., satisfied with all they experienced in a friendly and sportsmanlike atmosphere.
