COOPERATION WITH “FRIEDRICH EBERT’’ FOUNDATION

TRADITIONALLY GOOD COOPERATION

Belgrade, October 13, 2006

A meeting of “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation (FES) was held on Friday, October 13, 2006, with the representatives of MWBU “Nezavisnost”. This is a continuation of traditionally good cooperation, which has developed since the opening of FES office in Belgrade until today.

The MWBU “Nezavisnost” is a reliable and responsible partner and FES is very satisfied with the results it scored. In accordance with those results, the cooperation with MWBU “Nezavisnost” continues to mutual satisfaction – stressed Frank Hantke, director of “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation’s Office and regional project titled “Labor Relations and Social Dialogue” in Southeast Europe, during the talks with Dragan Matic, President of MWBU “Nezavisnost”, and Aleksandar Todic, Secretary of MWBU “Nezavisnost”. The support obtained and knowledge acquired during long-lasting cooperation with FES conduced towards the development of MWBU “Nezavisnost” and its successful work. This year’s joint projects have been successfully completed and we already have concrete and measurable results of that cooperation. The Youth Section and Women’s Section, as well as European Integrations will be the priority for MWBU “Nezavisnost” in 2007. We are willing to accept new members in 2007 from employee category in small and medium-size companies, as well as to form a team for organizing new members and conducting a campaign. We see young people as responsible for those activities, as well as those people who are mostly interested in European Integrations and our future in Europe within the European Union – stated Dragan Matic during the talks.

FES and MWBU “Nezavisnost” representatives will still organize meetings by the end of 2006 and concretize joint activities in 2007
