WORKSHOP WITHIN THE PROJECT ‘’WELCOME TO GERMANY’’ RESULTED IN PUBLICATION OF A BOOK FINANCED BY ‘’FRIEDRICH EBERT’’ FOUNDATION

FROM A TRIP TOWARD PRACTICAL POLITICAL PROPOSALS

After the study trip within the Project ‘’Welcome to Germany’’, in the spring of 2007, a group of students, awarded scholarships by the ‘’FES’’ Foundation, inspired by gained experience and participation in workshops in Berlin, devised the Project ‘’Serbian Café’’. Within this Project, implemented in October 2007, the students-scholarship holders, had the opportunity to talk, as moderators, to Belgrade students and Secondary-School students, about some of the most serious problems existing in Serbian society. The material gathered in this workshop served for the publication which was printed and published by the Foundation on June 27 2008.

The publication comprises 7 texts, among which are:

-Human rights and discrimination
-Globalization effects – ‘’The World is mine’’
-Social activism of the Youth
-Electoral systems in Serbia and Germany
-Stabilization process and association of Serbia with EU
-Problem of neglected children in Serbia, and
-Young people in the Labor Market

The text on the Problems and Status of young people in the Labor Market was written by the member of the Youth Section of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Danica Tomasevic. In her study she indicated the problems concerning lack of harmonization and coordination of the education system with the real needs of the Labor Market, nepotism, corruption, discrimination, mobbing, illegal work, non-acceptance of trade union as a support during employment.

The promotion of the publication titled ‘’From a trip toward practical political proposals’’ took place on June 28 2008 in the café ‘’Salvador Dali’’ in Belgrade. As author’s guests, the President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, D. Matic and representatives of the Youth Section of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Vidosava Lazic and Jasmina Petrovic, were present at the promotion.
