IS THERE A CONFLICT OF GENERATIONS: FROM JUVENILE AGE TO THE GRAVE, THE BEST IS ''UNIONIST'' AGE
JUVENILE AGE, OLD AGE
Belgrade, June 17 2008
If we observe a trade union as a biological organism, a question is put whether we, as an organization, after the ''birth'' phase in the 90-ties, are still in the phase of ''childhood'' or ''maturity''? Reflections of the advantages and shortcomings of old and juvenile age is neither stupid nor unessential, if one bears in mind that unionist organizations often identify themselves with their leaders. Very often, old age neither recognizes nor accepts reality and desires an impossible - to be ethernally young. In order to achieve this, it starts looking for ''young age stimulus''. This impetus and stimulus is POWER, POWER and ONLY POWER in this case. Power over people induces metabolic and metaphysical processes bringing about a false feeling of being young again. ''Viagra'', as a symbol of one's personal sexual potency, has been invented just because of aged people, but its effect is, however, false and limited.
Today, we evidently have an open conflict on one side: ''OLD AGE'', which enforces and uses a ''Selective observance of the Statute'', ''Founders image'', compared to ''YOUTH'', which supports ''Full observance of the Statute'', ''Young people's and industrious unionists image'', ''unionist democracy'', new and efficient operation methods in line with the reality of the time we live and work in. A trade union composed of ''YOUTH'' thinks that a trade union has to be modern, ready, wise, useful, honest, fruitful and nice in the future.
''GRAY HAIR, WISE HEAD''
A trade union, ruled by ''aged people'', aspires primarily to satisfy the needs of those having ''founders title deed'' over trade union, i.e. like a joint stock company. A nostalgy for good, old times, B.C. (co-owner of the newspaper ''Danas'') satisfies by dismissing young people from their positions, representing a potential ''danger'' to his current position. This is a classical absence of awareness of the present time and reality of the time we live in.
People know that there is a time for everything. Old age is highly evaluated by most people, and especially among Serbs.
In an opposite, positive sense, we have, for example, the name ''WISE MAN'', as a symbiosis of a knowledgeable, experienced man, willing to do his best, polite, one who likes people, full of understanding. A joint opinion of the young and old people is, first of all, that there has to be mutual understanding, trust and readiness for a common life.
