MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ CAMPAIGN FOR ORGANIZATION EXPANDING BEGAN IN VALJEVO. CITIZENS INTERESTED IN TRADE UNION.

‘’GORENJE’’ EMPLOYEES WISH TO JOIN ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ UNION

Valjevo, April 14 2008
Hundreds of workers of ‘’Gorenje’’ from Valjevo accepted membership admission forms and leaflets of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ with a smile, as the first step in becoming members of our Union. Smiling faces of young workers of ‘’Gorenje’’ are a confirmation that ‘’Gorenje’’ needs trade unions. More than 300 workers were handed in admission forms and we expect that many of them would sign them. Also, we can expect registering of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of Gorenje soon.

In the centre of the town, with approximately ten active members of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ from Valjevo, Belgrade and Smederevo (USS), promotional and educational materials were distributed to citizens, a questionnaire of the Youth Section and Women’s Section of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ was filled out, brochures and CD on Job Safety – European Union and European Social Dialogue were distributed – arouse great interest of people from Valjevo which criticized the present government on the republic and regional level too.

By organizing open speeches about mobbing, it was possible for representatives of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union from Valjevo to acquire knowledge of mobbing that they could apply in their companies, first of all, with the view of its prevention. The lecture on mobbing was given by Aleksandar Ilic, president of ‘’Stop Mobbing’’ Association.

The support of regional trustee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Vladimir Radovanovic, and Dusanka Pantic, president of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union Gradac Valjevo, contributed to outstanding presentation of the entire campaign by the media.

We can and we must give active support to our representatives throughout Serbia, and the campaign continues by visiting Zajecar.
