XVIII Session of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Presidency as a preparation for the Leading Committee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’

The members of the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Presidency can be satisfied with the results achieved in 2007 relative to previous plans and circumstances in which they acted. We achieved more than expected in many segments, but this tells that we can score results through diligent work and commitment, which are necessary for our members in the current, political and social situation. Such resolution of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Presidency is based on the adopted 2007 Work Report, as well as the Report of material and financial operations and transactions, submitted by the Presidency. The President of the Auditing Committee, Petar Potezica informed the Presidency that the Auditing Committee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ concluded that the funds in 2007 were used in compliance with the Statute, Decisions and Regulations on material-financial operations. The Auditing Committee hasn’t established any irregularities in disposal of those funds.

The Presidency adopted the proposal of organization of VI Congress of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and it was agreed that it should take place between September 18 – 19 2008. The Work Plan for 2008 was also adopted.

The most important part of the Session referred to current unionist events in UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’.

The events concerning the scandalous Meeting of the Provincial Committee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ for Vojvodina were reviewed at the Leading Committee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and a decision was made that the request of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ should be discussed at the Statutory Committee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. As it was a few years ago, the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ would direct its positions and opinion to the Presidency of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and would request the opinion of the Presidency and Leading Committee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The atmosphere in UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ is ‘’boiling’’ and actions and decisions are expected that shall stabilize the entire organization, and obstinacy and arrogance of individuals, as well as non-observance of Trade Union Statute will be sanctioned in an adequate manner with full observance of trade union enactments.

Also, the Presidency adopted the text of the letter that the President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic will send to the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia on the occasion of CATUS invitation to citizens to go out on the streets and take part in the Meeting ‘’Kosovo is Serbia’’, with demolished city of Belgrade as the final result.
