PRIBOJ – SEMINAR ON THE TOPIC “SAFETY, INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE
AND MOBBING”

NEW KNOWLEDGE FOR SUCCESSFUL UNION ACTIVITY




Priboj, October 6, 2006.

Making efforts that each town and region, where we have our members, must have equal conditions for acquiring knowledge and skills that we use in the union activity, the MWBU “Nezavisnost” organized a seminar in Priboj on the subject: “Safety, industrial hygiene and mobbing”.
The attendees of the seminar were Union representatives from Priboj, Prijepolje, Uzice and Ivanjica. Besides the members of Metal Workers' Union the seminar was attended by our colleagues from ''Nezavisnost'' Branch Union of textiles, leather and footwear, with which the MWBU ''Nezavisnost'' has joint activities associated with education.

In addition to 25 union members, we were glad to receive the representatives of the Social Security and Occupational Medicine Services, Tourist Organization from Priboj, as well as a representative of the Inspection for ecology and environmental protection of Priboj Municipality.
The lecturer (speaker), Aleksandar Ilic, from the Program Committee for Safety and Industrial Hygiene of UBU ''Nezavisnost'' gave a lecture on the subject ''Safety and Industrial Hygiene'', and Vera Kondic presented the ''Mobbing''.
The new knowledge, knowing the law, are the prerequisities for successful union activity and action, stressed the President, Dragan Matic, on the occasion of opening the seminar.
Knowing the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Law and risk assessment at the workplace are areas that must be developed by the Committees for safety and industrial hygiene. The Union’s task in a commissary office is to form Committees for safety and industrial hygiene and influence assigning higher priority to the area of safety and industrial hygiene in accordance with the law.
A very well organized seminar, as well as the hospitality showed by colleague, President of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of FAP Priboj, Trle Salko, contributed to a great extent that Priboj would be again the host of educational seminars and other activities in the near future, which will be organized and performed by MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ in the region of Priboj and Prijepolje.
